PASO ROBLES
Paso Robles is a perfect wine country getaway without the Napa price tag! Here are some of my recommendations :)
STAY
Summerwood is amazing. It's a boutique bed and breakfast located on a vineyard, but beware the rooms fill up quickly. Breakfast and afternoon happy hour and snacks are included!
Hotel Cheval is AMAZING you want to splurge. The service, the rooms, the location are all 5 stars. The hotel is located right in the middle of town. You seriously feel like you’re in an episode of The Gilmore Girls!
Last time I went with a group of friends we stayed in a super cute AirBNB with three rooms. It was quaint and clean and very close to town - called the Wine,Dine & Relax on Pine-Short walk dwntwn.
FOOD
Thomas Hill Organics is great for lunch or dinner! Fish Gaucho is hit or miss, sometimes really bad service but good food. The Hatch is good too!
TASTING ROOMS/WINERIES
LXV - def recommend, they have a spiced cheese pairing that is SO fun. I never even knew what this was before going here! They make a variety of spice mixes, which they also sell, that pair perfectly with each wine. The spices “marinate” overnight with the cheese and make a coating. Heads up, the spiced cheese pairing sells out so I recommend going earlier in the day if you can.
Epoch - super pretty views you could totally bring food and eat it outside after if you wanted. Great whites and reds! You’ll need a reservation.
Daou Vineyards - more remote but INSANE views and they serve food. They don't let you eat your own food, we learned that the hard way. Daou has higher production so it is very popular and usually pretty packed. Don’t forget to make a reservation!
Hammersky - also beautiful views and this is where my sister got married so I'm pretty bias. They have great reds! Hammersky is right next to Brecon and Oso Libre which is so convenient. Brecon is a definite recommend because it checks the box on so many things - great service, super cute outdoor area to hang out and they have cheese pairings.
